The recent arrival of shoring equipment has marked the official start of construction for Aragon Properties' Enigma on the Park, a boldly designed mixed-use development from Quadrangle Architects that will rise 9 storeys above St. Helens Avenue in Toronto's West End near Bloor and Lansdowne.

The shoring process currently under way involves the insertion of vertical hollow steel casings deep into the ground, the contents of which are then removed with an auger before concrete is poured into the buried casing. After the concrete has hardened, the casing is removed and the process repeated. Once shoring has secured the entire site, the excavation process for the building's below grade levels will commence.

After excavation is completed, the next stage of work will involve the erection of a crane, which Aragon is currently awaiting permits for.

The completed development will add 86 condo and townhome units to the neighbourhood, made up of over 50 different suite plans in sizes ranging from 420 square feet up to 1,567 square feet, and prices ranging from $231,900 up to $999,900.
