A new condominium development is fast revealing its exterior envelope at the meeting point between the Parkdale, Brockton Village, and Roncesvalles neighbourhoods. Gairloch Developments and Centrestone Urban Developments383 Sorauren Avenue topped off at a height of 10 storeys back at the start of 2016, and in the months since, cladding installation has made significant progress on the architectsAlliance-designed condominium development.

The project's main exterior expression puts a modern twist on the early 1900s industrial design language of the surrounding area. In conjunction with reflective windows framed in black mullions, the project utilizes brick to add warmth and texture. Bricks being used on the exterior of 383 Sorauren have been imported from Nebraska, a reddish-purple hued Endicott Ironspot Smooth 46 along with inset Manganese Ironspot bricks, creating a richer texture together. Due to the irregular shapes created by the building's chamfered edges, 50 unique brick shapes are being utilized to clad the exterior.

The installation of brick is now complete on the development's north facade. Three double-height brick-clad rows now form a grid on this facade, framing the north-facing balconies on levels three through eight presented in a grid.

The south facade is in a more raw state, with framing that will soon support the brick cladding now evident on the section that will house the south-facing residential balconies.
